Living and Enriching with Shivoham

I woke up this morning with a feeling of lightness in the body and within a few steps even before I could reach the bathroom, the topic for this week’s article was heard in my inner space. The words came as a reply from my request last night when I sat with myself. Though the answer didn’t come immediately during the meditation, I trusted that it would come at the right moment. In that passiveness, I fell into a vast space of silence such that the space just filled me completely. The next thing I realised was that I disappeared into that space and then relaxing into the deep sleep state.

It has been 21 days since I got back from Shivoham Inner Awakening in Cambodia, a mystical spiritual retreat conducted by Paramahamsa Nithyananda which completely changed my space and life. Not just living my regular life as a householder but also many other aspects are starting to shift with this cognition of living with this truth of Shivoham.

The Alchemy of Becoming Divine Beings

I just got back a couple of days ago from a mystical 21-day spiritual retreat called Shivoham Inner Awakening in Cambodia by a living incarnation, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (fondly known as Swamiji). This body is still trying to settle in from the alchemy process and the high energy space we were taken into. Frankly, many of us couldn’t even articulate exactly what happened to us but we just knew that Swamiji worked on our physiological evolution instead of psychological evolution.

I’ve deliberately avoided the subjective mystical experiences in this article as they are very personal to individuals. This Shivoham transformational process happened for 450 participants who attended this programme from over 40 countries. Literally we were a sample which represented the world.

Be Complete with Your Relationships

Last year, one of my male students shared with me that his friend’s wife after getting into the path of yoga, left her husband and 2 kids to live with a spiritual community. The reason was she felt that the family life was holding her back on her path of evolution. His friend was terribly devastated about his wife’s extreme decision which created a negative perception of yoga and spirituality in general.

I explained to him that this was not my understanding about the path of seeking, the right knowledge is about having completion in one’s relationships and responsibilities, then he or she is free to renounce the householder life. Running away only creates more incompletion and guilt inside one’s inner space which impedes the spiritual expansion. Completion means you feeling empowered and fulfilled without any hangover in the inner space.  Fundamentally, life is about completion and the power of fulfilment. Even Buddha and Mahaveera had to do their completion before their mission. This is where many people misunderstood the actions of Buddha or Mahaveera’s renunciation as a technique for enlightenment.
