The blow by Covid19 pandemic has already left a huge impact in the world’s economy resulting in shut-down of many industries and massive job losses. Nobody knows how long this uncertainty will continue. Question people have in mind – will there be a second wave of this pandemic?

During the lockdown, many businesses have been forced to move to online, in particular, the online learning is set to play a major role. The proliferation of internet and search engines have made many information so accessible at the touch of a few clicks away. A living incarnation, HDH Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam (fondly known as Swamiji) once said that his Gurukul (Vedic school) kids do not need to go to study whatever knowledge that can be found on Google search. Fundamentally, the information technology has made common knowledge so accessible that a child no longer needs to struggle to learn in public school or private school. The old order of education system is going to experience a big shake-out as more people realize that knowledge they acquire in school will no longer be useful by the time they enter into society. As a parent, would you want to waste your child’s life by putting them in a system which will be obsolete soon?

Space of a living teacher vs. a yoga instructor

This week, as I was finalizing with my teamily (team and family) all the preparations and publicity materials of the coming workshops and training programs in Malaysia, I had an amazing click. The click was about the space of a yoga instructor vs. the space of a living yoga teacher of Adi Yogi (first Yogi – Sadashiva)!

See, in June I had developed a platform called Parents Kids Home Yoga to enable parents and kids to enjoy the benefits of yoga at the comfort of their home as well as to improve the bonding time between parents and kids. This training module aims at existing yoga practitioners and yoga teachers who are interested to let children experience the amazing Science of yoga at a tender age of 3 years old and above; and give parents the time and space to relate with their children. Many working parents especially the mothers are running behind their jobs such that they are not spending enough quality time with their kids to listen, nurture and play with them. The role they are supposed to play as a nurturer does not happen, many times children are feeling lonely at home and they start to seek entertainment or distractions such as computer games, virtual fantasies or wrong company. No wonder kids are getting irritable with short attention span as well as aggressive in their behavior. This starts a slew of social problems such as poor physical health like obesity, diabetes, behavioral problems like violence, withdrawal; and mental disorders like anxiety, depression when children are not given the right ambience during the growing up phase.

Create a sacred playground for your child

This year, I have begun yet another new expansion called Parents-Kids-Home Yoga. The genesis of this project came about when I decided to commission a very talented friend of mine from Hong Kong to draw a set of Beginners series of 10 yoga postures (yogasanas) for children last year. One thing led to another, this small project turned out to be a global platform for bringing Yoga to parents and children at the comfort of the home.

Through this platform, I hope to empower parents to start spending quality time with their children using Yoga as a platform for them to explore, to connect and also to bond at a deeper level. That is the main purpose of this project – Parents Kids Home Yoga. Basically the moment the parents are able to inspire their children into practicing yoga which is an independent intelligence, not only it awakens the muscle memory and bio memory in terms of awakening the body intelligence, it also works on many different systems of the body – physiology, psychology and neurology. So yoga is not just confined to the physical level of workout, it is a complete system by itself. When parents start working with children at this fundamental level, they will experience a new space – the space of yoga, that space is only accessible when they are able to bring the child into the space of purity and awareness.
