The Joy of Living in a Sangha

There are 2 types of families – one is the blood-related family and the other is the ideological family. The former is the family we are born into whereas the latter is the family which connects us to certain ideals.

A sangha is an ideological family, a spiritual community which is kept alive only by giving and sharing spiritual experience with others. Since we are no hermits living in a cave, we are fundamentally social beings living in a community.

Lord Buddha once said that – To experience nirvana (enlightenment), 3 things are needed: Buddha (the master), dharma (His teachings) and sangha (a spiritual community). He also said that the future of sangha should be filled with tremendous friendliness. A person who supports the life’s mission is a “Mitra”, a friend.

The Healing Hands of Divine

That year was 2005, I was diagnosed with cervix cancer Stage 3 and I had to undergo a procedure to remove the infected cervix. I was told by my gynae to monitor the condition closely for next 3 years to ensure there was no relapse.

In early 2006, I met my guru, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (fondly known as Swamiji). He healed me from the root cause of my cancer which was deeply connected to my pain and guilt patterns in a programme called Nithya Spurana Programme (Life Bliss Programme 2). After the rebirthing process and powerful initiation, I felt that I was given a new body and a new mind. Feeling deeply grateful to the master, I decided to become an ordained Nithya Spiritual Healer to offer the healing service to humanity in Jan 2007.

It has been 8 years since I have been initiated as a healer. Swamiji once said that his healers are his hands, we are the healing hands of Divine i.e. we become a channel for the same divine Cosmic energy that he embodies, to flow through us to the person who is receiving the healing. Being a healer puts us into the deepest level of our Being. When we go inside our Being, we naturally radiate energy and that energy automatically heals others. After all, healing is nothing but conscious concentrated love.

Living with Integrity: A Deeper Understanding

Smart young girl stood infront of a blackboard

For the last 4 months, I have been soaking in the more subtle dimensions of the first Cosmic Principle – Integrity as a teacher for the children in Nithyananda Bala Vidyalaya ( a weekend programme for children) as well as for the adults in my current yoga classes. My master, Paramahamsa Nithyananda once said that you can learn 75% of a great truth from reading scriptures, learning from master and doing practice, but the remaining 25% will be complete unless we start teaching the truth to others.  This is absolutely true!

Integrity is a spiritual value which is beyond morality and ethics. Morality and ethics can vary from era, country, society but integrity is absolute which remains unchanged forever. Integrity is the very foundation on which our lives are built. The structure of our lives is nothing but the words we give to ourselves and to others. Do you know that our words create our destiny? They are the life force that fuels us. Integrity forms part of our very life energy, the very air we breathe.
