Living action in utter insecurity is living enlightenment

Do you constantly seek security in life?

In the Maslow Hierarchy of needs, we are taught that beyond basic survival needs like food, water and shelter, the next level of needs we seek is that of security. As such we constantly run our lives in search of attaining certain level of security in life – financial security, family security and job security.

I discovered that my past incompletion with wealth and abundance during my childhood days made me run my life searching for financial security. As a result, I was running to accumulate wealth and the zeros in my bank account. I was conditioned to this arithmetic logic from society that I wouldn’t have enough financial freedom in my old age, so I needed to run my life while I was still young. This pattern of insecurity was finally broken only after I took the jump out of the corporate life and start seeing my blind spot which made me run for security. In the corporate life, I cognized that there is no such thing as job security because anything can happen due to the volatility of imaginary stock market. The moment I understood this truth that life itself is nothing but utter insecurity, I stopped this foolishness. I completed with my blind spot of creating a bondage within myself in the name of security which was just Maya (illusion) due to my ignorance.

Unclutched action makes you a high performer

Do you know that you can be a high performer without stress and worries?

Let me share with you a powerful truth I learned about actions and performance from my Guru, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (fondly known as Swamiji) which I was initiated into the science of unclutching in 2009 during a 21-day spiritual and yoga retreat called Inner Awakening.

Swamiji shared this simple but subtle technique called ‘Unclutching’ with the world, the ultimate science for freeing oneself from stress, worry and fear, and moving effortlessly to higher consciousness. He said: “Do not create, maintain or destroy any thought. If you don’t do any of these three things, you are the Supreme Self, Parabrahma!” Unclutching is like a self-purifying method. For any technique to be self-purifying and liberating, the moment you become subtle, the technique should also become subtle by itself. Unclutching is one such universal technique that can be used anytime, anywhere, by both the beginners and advanced practitioners. This simple method is remarkably easy to learn yet it is deeply profound in its transformational impact on your consciousness.

I remembered in my first Inner Awakening in June 2009, for several days we spent just sitting in Swamiji’s presence to unclutch from various layers starting from thoughts, breathing, emotions, attachment; even spiritual experiences. The deeper we are able to unclutch the more bliss we experience. The beauty of the “Unclutching” technique is that it can be applied instantly wherever you are. It does not require one to be sitting in a quiet dark room or in a tranquil state of mind. Once initiated by Swamiji (known as deeksha), it can take the practitioner immediately from being “clutched” – emotionally attached to whatever is going on in one’s life, to being “unclutched” – the space of conflict-free living. Thousands of people including myself had benefited and experienced tremendous healing and improvements in aspects of life such as health, wealth, mental clarity, creativity, relationships, careers and spiritual growth.

Uncertainty is life! Live it!

How do you cope with life’s uncertainty?
Are you one of those who gets totally shaken by chaos?

We all know that life is nothing but filled with uncertainty. One thing I learned is whenever we relate with ourselves as this body-mind – matter, we express a deeply engraved quality of matter which is to be certain about things in life. Matter by its very nature is certain, as such the material existence part of us always wants everything to be certain, this gives us a false sense of security. The moment life brings some unexpected changes in front of us, we are completely shaken. Consciousness by its nature is spontaneity, that is why whenever the Universal Spirit takes over, we are not able to handle spontaneity. We call that spontaneous movement as uncertainty.

Paramahamsa Nithyananda, a living incarnation (fondly known as Swamiji) gives this sacred secret – To embrace the very uncertain nature of life, firstly, we need to wake up from this illusion of certainty! Whenever life presents itself in the uncertain moments, just have this ONE understanding – life is in front of you, Consciousness is in front of you. Handle it, play with it and live it. There are some moments where you can change the matter and get rid of uncertainty but there are some moments where you just have to live with it.

The next sacred secret that Swamiji shared – ‘Be prepared to handle uncertainty 24/7. That courage to face uncertainty will take care even during those moments when you need to change the uncertainty. So the basic thing which we need is – decide to handle uncertainty consciously, go through it. That courage is enough.

Let me share my recent experience in the Suddhadvaitam program in May at Ujjain. On the first week, we were put in utter uncertainty as we encountered heavy shower on the first day and the camp was flooded which resulted in a challenge in the living condition. But we recovered from the situation shortly within 2 days. Then on the 7th day, we witnessed the happening of a cyclone which blew a few things away, that really shook many people. I remembered that moment I was just watching life in front of me like a movie, I took care of the safety and did what I could do to recover from the situation. Having a complete trust in the Master helped me to summon the courage to face the uncertainty and live it, knowing that he will take care of everything.

In essence, whenever we experience the uncertainty, anything we can change in the outer world, we should do it immediately. Whenever life shows the uncertainty, we should reframe from claiming that as chaos. Instead, we just declare spontaneity, the courage to live spontaneously! As per Shiva Sutras, it says very beautifully – Living in utter insecurity is enlightenment. When we live in utter insecurity, our intuition, intelligence and many divine qualities gets awakened by force. Uncertainty is Life – live it! Namaste. 😀
