Renounce ignorance, not the world

Once a sincere seeker asked an enlightened master, Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam: “Dear master, is it necessary to renounce the world to realize the self?”

Bhagawan replied: “To realize the self, there is only one thing you must be willing to renounce, that is ignorance.”

He explained that self-realization has nothing to do with renouncing the world. To run away from the world is just as bad as clinging on to it, in both cases, it is evident that the world is controlling your actions. Aversion to the world is as much a product of ignorance as attachment to it. They are just two sides of the same coin.

A person can live in a cave, in the mountains, and be obsessed with sansar (worldliness), while another can live in the world and yet to be completely detached from its pull and push. To take sannyas (renunciation) is not to renounce the world, but to renounce both attachment and aversion to the world. The very same life, when it is seen through the mist of ignorance is sansar and when it is seen in the clear light of self-awareness, becomes sannyas.

Scale to know if you are in love

How do you know you are in love?

This is the scale to know if one is in love or not – something I learned from my guru, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (fondly known as Swamiji). Swamiji revealed that a man has only two ways of centering their thinking: 1) money-centric or 2) fulfillment-centric.

Be very clear, even if you have one question about future security, you are not in love, you have not experienced love. The moment love happens, the fulfillment center is awakened and it does not let you think about money or about the future security. In a relationship when you are truly in love, you will find that money suddenly loses its power over you. Your thought currents will not be centered on money, instead you will be centered on the other person, money will not matter to your life anymore. If you feel this way, only then you are in love.

Before I started seeking for fulfilment, I realized that most of my thought currents were centered on the insecurity of not having enough money and that I needed to keep running my life like a rat to sustain my lifestyle. It was only after I had my inner awakening by Swamiji and my completion with the poverty consciousness and insecurity with wealth that I began to experience a shift from money-centric cognition to fulfillment-centric cognition.

Be a space holder for your child’s possibilities

Would you encourage your child to explore the innate intelligence and extraordinary powers?

It saddens me when I see many parents who are terrified of the unknown and their child’s higher possibilities due to their own ignorance that they stop their child/children from the process of self-discovery.

Here’s a true story.

A young girl who is suffering from a lot pressure and stress from parents, schools and peers, she has started to develop certain developmental difficulties as she becomes withdrawn and lacks self confidence. Literally she is like a little bird caged by the conditioning of parents, society and the educational system. When she came to have a private tuition session with a disciple of my Guru, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (fondly known as Swamiji), they decided to play and casually explore the power of third eye even though she was not initiated by Swamiji. The devotee was able to hold a powerful space of possibilities for her to discover her innate intelligence and powers. She was able to read blindfolded just by entangling with an initiated disciple of Swamiji. That’s amazing phenomenon.
