Do you know that there are two ways of thinking in relation with the body?

One, thinking that the body we are carrying is everything in our life. From morning till night, we wash this body, decorate or paint it with make-up, clothe it with all kinds of fanciful attires, feed it with a variety of food, put it to sleep in a comfortable bed; nothing else goes on in the mind except the body. This group of people think they are only the body.

Second, understanding that you are centered on this body, but not only the body. This group of intelligent people know that when this body dies, they are not going to end, everything does not end, the curtain does not fall, it is not that everything is over.

10 Steps for Overcoming the Fear of Making a Change

I am currently working with a client who has been suffering from fear psychosis since young. To help her understand her situation, I shared with her certain basic understanding about fear which resonated with her. As fear is a base emotion that everyone experiences, I know that by sharing this knowledge here, many people would be helped by it.

The first truth is – fear is a form of energy inside us, hence it cannot be destroyed. Energy can only be transformed from one form to another. Fear is our nature, if we don’t direct it towards any object, it is pure fear which helps us in survival and being spontaneous. Whenever pure fear happens, we feel rejuvenated with a tremendous relaxation which expresses as courage and energy in us. Hence our fear is directly connected to our life energy.

Mystery of Fear and Inner Peace

Through travelling the path of yoga, I’ve come to believe that our human nature is that of bliss (Ananda) and health. From this blissful existence, it is the basic human need to be calm and peaceful, to be aware of ourselves and others, to be compassionate and collaborative in enriching others, to be fully present in each moment. This state happens only when we are at peace with our Being.

Everybody aspires to be in a state of inner peace because it is our true nature; after all we arrived on planet earth in a state of peace. But as we grow older, the outer world conditioning of fear and greed makes us gradually lose this inner peace. Recently, I had the fortune of receiving a deeper understanding on the mystery of fear and inner peace and experienced this subtle truth. I realized that unless we bring subtle understanding about acceptance of death, transcending the energy of fear, how insecurity gets created, the truth about integrity and authenticity, we will not be able to experience this peace.
