How do you know you are in love?

This is the scale to know if one is in love or not – something I learned from my guru, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (fondly known as Swamiji). Swamiji revealed that a man has only two ways of centering their thinking: 1) money-centric or 2) fulfillment-centric.

Be very clear, even if you have one question about future security, you are not in love, you have not experienced love. The moment love happens, the fulfillment center is awakened and it does not let you think about money or about the future security. In a relationship when you are truly in love, you will find that money suddenly loses its power over you. Your thought currents will not be centered on money, instead you will be centered on the other person, money will not matter to your life anymore. If you feel this way, only then you are in love.

Before I started seeking for fulfilment, I realized that most of my thought currents were centered on the insecurity of not having enough money and that I needed to keep running my life like a rat to sustain my lifestyle. It was only after I had my inner awakening by Swamiji and my completion with the poverty consciousness and insecurity with wealth that I began to experience a shift from money-centric cognition to fulfillment-centric cognition.

Now, money is just a means to have more fulfillment to me because I have discovered true wealth is about being in love with the Source (Sadashiva) and experiencing the state and space of Oneness with Him and having a powerful inner space to manifest anything I want in my life. When you discovered that you are the Kalpataru, the wish-fulling tree, where is the question of insecurity?! Whatever I want in life, whether it is manifesting a new business venture, creating abundance, attending the Inner Awakening program every December as a spiritual vacation with my Guru, eating healthily or travelling wherever I want – everything can be manifested by will persistence and powers (Shaktis) of Sadashiva.

According to Swamiji, when the fear of insecurity with money disappears from your inner space, even your sweat will not smell. There will be a beautiful Ananda Gandha around you; the fragrance of love, the fragrance of bliss, which puts anybody who comes in your breathing space into that same state. It is not just a Yogic quality which only the spiritual seekers experience. Even for ordinary relationship, when you are in love, the concept of insecurity and money will suddenly fade away. You will start thinking from the fulfillment center and your decisions will be very different.

At least once in your life, you should experience the space where money just suddenly loses its grip over you. If you are able to taste that space, only then you are in love. However, if you cannot even fall in love with ordinary human being, the experience of falling in love with the Ultimate, the Divine will not be opened for you. Only with ultimate divine love, can the deep-rooted patterns of many births be broken and melted away. Falling in love with the Guru (Guru Bhakti) who is the embodiment of the very Cosmic energy, he then turns that love towards Self (Atman Bhakti) and completes the whole circle of love. By being in love with the Divine, you enter into the pattern-less space where you live from freedom to freedom, move from freedom to more freedom. All your actions are from freedom to freedom; where your doing is freedom to freedom, and your being is freedom! Namaste! 😀
